A STUDY ON THYROID FUNCTION TESTS USING RBC UPTAKE OF I^(131)-T_(3)

Abstract
The measurement of the red blood cell uptake of I^(131) lebeled L-triiodothyronine has been widely used as one of the most valuable thyroid function tests.
The variation of the red cell uptake values according to the measurement procedures as well as to the pathological conditions in which the serum protein levels change.
The thoretical background of the T_(3) test were also discussed.
1. The influences of the incubation periods, washing times and on the T_(3) test results were analysed.
2. The theoretical backgrounds of this test were schematically analysed.
3. The variations of the red cell uptake of T_(3) in nephritis, nephrosis, hepatopathy, pregnancy, cnacer and heart disease were studied.
